East London Small Business Centre (ELSBC) is delighted to announce the launch of the ELSBC Facebook group, as part of its commitment to Enterprise Week, an annual UK event aimed at inspiring young people to have ideas and make them happen. A separate but complementary Facebook group is being launched simultaneously by ELSBC’s Barking & Dagenham Small Business Centre division.

Tim Heath, CEO of ELSBC says: ‘We believe that Facebook is not just a networking site for individuals to keep in touch with friends but also a very effective networking tool for organisations and businesses to create awareness of their products and services whilst connecting with the wider community

The Centre is confident that this innovative approach to communicating with all entrepreneurs in the east London area will be a huge success and that eventually this will become a self-sufficient on-line business community where budding business people can network and support one another.

Pauline Barnett, Deputy CEO of ELSBC says: ‘We want to invite people to join the group and feel able to get answers to questions, share experiences with like minded people and to understand that they are not on their own. We believe that Facebook is an ideal tool to contact us, share knowledge and boost inter-trading among our clients’.
This is the central part of a series of activities being held by both ELSBC and BDSBC to encourage awareness of self employment opportunities available to young people.

Joining our Facebook group on-line could not be easier, find out how to create an account and join the group in 5 easy steps by simply visiting; http://www.bdsbc.org/facebook

ELSBC is a market leader within the business support community. It has been established for almost 30 years and is the longest surviving enterprise agency in the UK. Last year the ELSBC provided business training to more than 700 people in east London, more than two thirds of whom were from ethnic minority communities. The Centre’s business counselling team held 4,665 meetings, resulting in 400 new businesses starting.

The staff at the Centre are keen to talk to anyone considering self employment or looking for business information, advice, training and all services are free. Contact BDSBC for more information on: 020 8911 3737; e-mail: bdsbc@bdsbc.org; or visit www.bdsbc.org
